Virginia Sever

Virginia Sever is an emerging Indianapolis-based actress, director, and playwright. Her work includes The Sophmaniac’s Sophomore Election, a 2021 semi-finalist in the Indiana Repertory Theater’s Young Playwrights in Process competition, and Big Einsteins, both of which were produced by Jaguar Performing Arts at IU Indianapolis. She has also recently finished Cooperstown, New York, her first feature-length screenplay. 

Her favorite directing credits include Big Einsteins, Noir-ished by Mystery, and Spamalot. As an actress, she has performed in several Shakespeare productions across Indianapolis, with previous roles including Portia in Julius Caesar, Perdita in The Winter’s Tale, and Exton/Scroop in Richard II. She will make her Propel New Works debut in April of 2026 as the assistant director for the second season of Staged Readings by New American Playwrights.

Virginia is an alumna of Indiana University Indianapolis. In December of 2024, she graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Museum Studies, with a minor in Professional and Public Writing. A museum educator by day, she blends storytelling with education in her current role as a Gallery Interpreter at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.
